Another year, another birthday. Yesterday I turned 19 which to me is a very odd age. It's past the 'baby-adult' stage but you're still a teen at heart. I'm not going to lie, I get very excited when it comes my birthday. People always say that "birthdays get less and less exciting as you get older" but I'm very determined to make that a myth. I love taking the day to just relax and do something that I love. Making memories with the people you love is better than anything else.
I had decided I wanted to go to Stourhead which is a big stately home in Wiltshire that's owned by the National Trust. I am a sucker for stately homes and period dramas so visiting places like this is a dream come true. (Especially as Pride & Prejudice filmed scenes here...Aaahhhh!!!)
It couldn't have been a better day to go. The sun was shining and the trees had started to turn beautiful warm Autumn tones. Even the drive there was so fun; long straight roads through colorful woodland and absolutely no traffic.
We walked all the way around the lake taking photos as we went and half way round we sat on a bench close to the water and just listened to the sounds of nature. It really made me want my own lake house hehe.

Afterwards we wandered up to the house and had a look through the downstairs rooms which were magnificent - and that's an understatement. The music room was my favourite. There was a huugeee and incredibly old grand piano in the center of the room which Tyler kept bugging me to play. I really, really wanted to but attracting attention to myself just isn't in my nature unfortunately. It was stunning though, in my day dreams I always imagine having a country estate where I can ride my ponies and boat in the lake. Yeah, I know my dreams are unrealistic bla bla bla...but what's the point of having dreams if they're easy to get?!

We then popped to a café nearby for a late lunch and headed to Wells in Somerset for some much-needed coffee and an enormous slice of cake. In the evening we headed over to my family home with loads of pizza which was scoffed down along with cake and sweeties.
All in all, it was a lovely day and I'm so thankful for all the love I received from friends and family. I strive to make each year of my life more memorable than the last so, here's to being 19. Lets crush it!
Love, Sophie 🐻
