Happy new year! 🎉 It would now be a very convenient time for me to commit to writing these on a weekly basis. You might be thinking, 'Soph, surely you don't like writing these if you don't do it very often?' The thing is, I love spewing thoughts out; whether that be in my diary, on my phone, to my friends or on here. I have no excuse for not doing it - maybe I'm just lazy? Or forgetful? Who knows? Because I sure don't.
Anyway, I hope whoever's reading this had a wonderful Christmas and a great new year. Christmas is by far my favourite time of year. I love everything about it - family time, sparkles, songs, food and even buying presents! Because I was with Tyler this year, I bought my first Christmas tree and boy was he big! I'm not talking about my family's Christmas tree shown above - I'm talking a 9ft, 2m wide tree. He was the mammoth of trees and I'll be sad to see him go. 😭
Now that it's the new year, I have made some new year's resolutions. My main resolution is to finish things. I believe that should be a resolution for many people. Loooaaaaads of people have so many ideas and plans and either never act on them or never see them through till the end. I am willing to change that this year. Even small things I don't manage to complete. Like pencil sketches and piano pieces. There's so much potential in things that I fail to complete. I have a hard job finishing projects for my business too; like setting up automated emails and messenger bots. I always get consumed by nervousness and insecurity before I can efficiently finish it. Blocking those emotions out fully will take some time. If you're ever scared of doing something because you're worried about the repercussions or making mistakes...DON'T. Just DO IT. That has already helped build my confidence with so many things. Finishing things is the only way to progress and get stuff done. It takes you one step closer to your desired situation. I've found that actually completing projects is fairly satisfying; it settles your mind.
Anyhoo, I've waffled on a bit but I hope my nonsensical splurge has been somewhat relatable to any readers. I'll aim to write more than I have been because I have so much to advise on and talk about. Not only will it be useful to people reading this, but also the future me.
Thanks for reading. Have a great day!
Love, Sophie 🐻
